U.S. Representative Massie Co-sponsors Veterans Compensation Bill

 – Representative Massie has co-sponsored the Retired Pay Restoration Act. This legislation would guarantee service men and women full compensation for their time and sacrifice.

“Disabled veterans accepted substantial personal risk to protect our country, and they deserve full compensation,” said Rep. Massie.

Prior to 1999, disabled military retirees were required to forfeit a dollar of retirement pay for each dollar of disability compensation received.  Congress has since acted to eliminate this offset for disabled retirees with a sufficient disability rating.  The Retired Pay Restoration Act would extend this advantage to all disabled retirees.

The bill would also provide full disability compensation and pay to individuals whose careers were shortened by service-related disabilities.

Rep. Gus Bilirakis introduced the Retired Pay Restoration Act, which now has 58 co-sponsors.
