Congressional Art Competition

Congressman Thomas Massie would like to invite all high school students who reside in the Fourth District of Kentucky to participate in the 2020 Congressional Art Competition.

Each spring, Members of the U.S. House of Representatives sponsor The Artistic Discovery Contest, a nation-wide high school arts competition, to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our congressional district.

The Artistic Discovery Contest is open to all high school students in the 4th District. The overall winner of our district's competition will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit in Washington will also include artwork from other contest winners nation-wide.

Interested students should submit one original piece of two-dimensional work, which should be no bigger than 26” x 26” x 4” when framed. Entries can be dropped off at Congressman Massie’s office in Crescent Springs.

Address: 541 Buttermilk Pike, Ste 208
Crescent Springs, KY 41017

Accepted mediums for the two-dimensional artwork are as follows:

  • Paintings: oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc.
  • Drawings: colored pencil, pencil, ink, marker, pastels, charcoal (It is recommended that charcoal and pastel drawings be fixed.)
  • Prints: lithographs, silkscreen, block prints
  • Mixed Media: use of more than two mediums such as pencil, ink, watercolor, etc.
