Breaking News: Rep. Massie Takes Massie v. Pelosi Lawsuit to the Supreme Court
|
The attorneys in our lawsuit against former Speaker Pelosi just filed a Petition for Certiorari at the Supreme Court.
Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi imposed salary reductions Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Rep. Ralph Norman, and me for our refusal to wear a mask on the House floor in 2021. By issuing pay deductions against us, Pelosi violated the Constitution’s 27th Amendment, which prohibits salary adjustments for Members of Congress from taking effect until after the next election. At issue: Is the 27th Amendment to the Constitution even enforceable?
Here’s a link to the SCOTUS filing. In addition, this link will take you to a Daily Caller article providing additional details about the Massie v. Pelosi lawsuit.

Rep. Massie's "Interview Day" features special guest, Rep. Savannah Maddox!

Kentucky State Rep. Savannah Maddox alongside members of the Academy Interview Panel
|
|
This month, my staff hosted Interview Day for U.S. Service Academy applicants from Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District. Each year, Members of Congress have the privilege of recommending exceptional young men and women for admission to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy, and the Merchant Marine Academy, known collectively as the U.S. Service Academies.
The U.S. Service Academies offer a unique opportunity for motivated young adults to serve their country while improving all facets of their character through a rigorous scholastic curriculum and a disciplined moral and physical regimen. In place of tuition, the Academies require military service after graduation. Cadets and Midshipmen graduate as Officers in the United States Military, and many have gone on to be great leaders in our nation’s history.
An interview panel of academy graduates, officers, and academy liaisons from all branches of the military evaluated applicants and will make recommendations on who will receive a nomination from my office.
We have been working through a chaotic legislative calendar in Washington, D.C., and unfortunately, this is the first time since being elected to office in 2012 that I was not able to attend Interview Day.
Savannah Maddox, State Representative for Kentucky’s 61st District, met with the interview panel in my stead and thanked them for dedicating their Saturday to this effort. Before the panel spent the day interviewing candidates, Rep. Maddox spoke to them about what is happening at the Kentucky State Capitol. She gave an update on the state budget process, efforts to lower the state income tax, and a possible reformation of the juvenile justice system.
The panel, some of whom appear in the picture above, interviewed each of the applicants throughout the day. I wish each of the applicants the best and know the panelists will use their expertise to pick the most qualified and dedicated individuals. I want to express my sincere gratitude to all of the panelists and applicants for being willing to serve our country.

Rep. Massie Discusses His Amendment Defunding Automobile Kill Switches on Fox News
|
Section 24220 of the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act requires all newly manufactured vehicles to be equipped with technology to monitor driver performance and prevent vehicle operation. The government’s automobile kill-switch mandate is Orwellian and a threat to civil liberties. When your own car shuts down because it doesn’t approve of your driving, how will you appeal your roadside conviction? I recently joined Laura Ingraham to discuss my amendment to defund the 2026 kill-switch mandate for cars.
During debate on my amendment to defund the kill-switch mandate, some Democrats claimed the technology wouldn’t monitor or disable cars. Watch below as I read the actual law to them:

Rep. Massie's Amendment Ending Gain-of-Function Research Funding Passes the House
|
I recently introduced an amendment to end government funding of gain-of-function research. My amendment passed and will hopefully put a stop to paying for this controversial research with taxpayer dollars.
Gain-of-function research is defined as "research activities reasonably anticipated to increase a potential pandemic pathogens transmissibility, pathogenesis, ability to overcome immune response, or ability to overcome a vaccine or drug.'"
The dangers of gain-of-function research are numerous, serious, and even unknown. There is no practical application for this research outside of the curiosity of a government lab. The United States does not need to be a collaborator in research that could result in the next global pandemic.

This month, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene chaired an important hearing examining injuries caused by the COVID-19 vaccines. After participating in the hearing, I met Dr. Robert Malone to thank him for providing insightful testimony about mRNA derived vaccines. In addition to Dr. Malone, special witnesses at this hearing included Dr. Kimberly Biss and attorney Thomas Renz.

The entire hearing is included in the video embedded below if you would like to learn more about this important subject.

Rep. Massie Stands Up to Washington, D.C.'s "Most Aggressive Lobbyists"
|
Why does Israel historically get more foreign aid than any other country? Because they have the most aggressive lobbyists working for them. I voted NOT to send another $14.3 billion overseas, so now they’re running ads on radio, TV, and Facebook. I won’t vote to give them your money.
|
Not an insignificant number of people replied to this poll. Folks, we’re broke and I won’t be voting to send your money to any country - especially not the countries that have a lower debt-to-GDP ratio than the United States.
Borrowing $14.3 billion to send to a prosperous country overseas doesn’t make America stronger - it makes America bankrupt.

Ron Paul for Speaker? He was in Washington, D.C. during the recent vacancy in the Speaker's office, so I met up with him and gave him a debt badge that I created, which shows our mounting national debt in real time. I wish we had elected him President!
In liberty,
