Dear Friends,
Every weekend I come back to Kentucky and try to purge my brain of the hypocrisy and stupidity I’ve witnessed in Congress the week before. Otherwise, it piles up.

My Kentucky farm clears my head of D.C.'s hypocrisy and stupidity
As I returned to Washington, D.C. this week, I still hadn't purged the nonsense I dealt with in person last week.
On guns, I heard the Democrats argue vociferously that a wrist brace is a bump stock. If there was any doubt of their profound ignorance, they removed it by displaying a poster of the wrist brace and reiterating that it would facilitate full-auto fire.

Supporters of the House-passed "assault weapons" ban don't know the difference between a bump stock and a stabilizing brace.
House Judiciary Committee Democrats don’t know the difference between a brace and a bump stock. They only know they want to ban your guns. Laura Ingraham and I discussed their gun control zealotry further on a recent segment of her show.
I witnessed almost every Democrat on the Judiciary Committee call the most common rifle sold in the United States a “weapon of war,” and then heard them argue passionately that the Department of Education and the USDA needed these “weapons of war.”
I listened to every single one of them argue that firearms manufacturers should be liable for the acts of criminals, and follow that up by voting against removing immunity for pharmaceutical companies even when they are clearly negligent!
I even watched them pass a bill on a party line vote that banned a weapon if it looked a certain way, but not ban that very same weapon if it looked a different way, while they assured the public that this would make them safer.
On energy, I heard Secretary Buttigieg say that high gas prices would be beneficial, and describe electric cars as very affordable.
I asked the Secretary if he knew what impact Biden’s electric car mandate would have on the grid and he did not, or he chose to ignore it. When presented with the math, he seemed unable or unwilling to acknowledge the magnitude of the electric consumption.
I could go on. This is just a sampling of what I witnessed personally and pushed back against this month.
As July comes to a close, more of this same insanity is coming my way. I appreciate your support as I keep fighting for our Constitutional rights and our liberty.
Here are some additional items I worked on this month:
Rep. Massie on Fox & Friends: Biden is Forcing You to Choose Between AC and Driving
I appeared on Fox & Friends this month to discuss Joe Biden's plans for electric vehicles. The nation's electric grid is not ready for Biden's electric car policy, as those who designed it relied on political science instead of engineering. In a nutshell, Biden's plan will force you to choose between air conditioning your homes and charging your car.

Rep. Massie's PRIME Act Featured on Stossel TV
John Stossel recently sent a film crew to my cattle farm in Lewis County to conduct an interview about the PRIME Act. My legislation would give individual states freedom to permit intrastate distribution of custom-slaughtered meat such as beef, pork, or lamb to consumers, restaurants, hotels, boarding houses, and grocery stores. I would rather deal with cattle than congressmen; at least cattle exhibit learned behavior.

Rep. Massie Leads House Opposition to Democrats' Gun Control Legislation
Earlier this month, Democrats in the House passed new gun control legislation. I led the effort to defeat the measure, and went to the floor of the House to warn Americans that bills like this are being used to condition the American people to repeal the Second Amendment.
Since that time, the Democrats have also passed a so-called "assault weapons ban." I opposed their legislation, telling them that their latest gun control scheme is both unserious and unconstitutional.

Massie Discusses Solutions to General Aviation Spectrum Needs in House Transportation Committee
In a couple of years, Pete Bunce, President and CEO of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, is going to look like a prophet talking about the spectrum issue and its effects on general aviation.

Massie Offers Amendment to NDAA to Defund Military COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate
I offered an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act which would have defunded the military COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The House Rules Committee, which is controlled by Nancy Pelosi, refused to allow the House of Representatives to vote on this amendment.
Now that he has COVID and knows he is contagious even after 4 shots, Joe Biden has absolutely zero moral authority to force a needle into the arms of the military, federal employees, medical workers, and foreign visitors.

Photo of the Month: "Shall Not Be Infringed"
This photo is courtesy of the Twitter account run by the Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, @JudiciaryGOP. It shows Judiciary Committee Republicans sending a necessary Second Amendment reminder to the Democrats as the Democratic majority on the Committee marked up its unconstitutional "assault weapons ban" legislation.
In liberty,
